Healthy Community Design Webinar
Every time we step out our doors, our health is affected by the physical design of our community. Healthy community design can help improve the quality of life in every community, giving everyone a variety of healthy, available, accessible, and affordable options to live, learn, work and play.
On October 4, 2011 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm CDT, Arthur Wendel, M.D., team lead for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Healthy Community Design Initiative (www.cdc.gov/healthyplaces), will discuss:
- How healthy community design integrates evidence-based health strategies into community planning, transportation, and land-use decisions.
- How planning and designing communities with health in mind can lead to improved community health, wellness, and quality of life.
- Strategies and tools for ensuring that healthy community design decisions are being considered in your community.
